Most adults in developed nations are worried about money

According to SurveyMonkey’s International’ Your Money Financial Security Survey’, a significant portion of adults across various major economies said they were stressed regarding their personal finances.

50% in Australia, Germany and UK say they are worse off

Specifically, approximately 50% of adults in Australia, Germany, and the U.K. reported feeling financially worse off compared to five years ago.

Many of the “middle class” live paycheck to paycheck

Moreover, among those participants who identified themselves as middle class, a surprising amount said they could not save money as they wished, with 45% and 62% stating that they were living “paycheck to paycheck”

Worse off than generations before

70% of Australians and Americans are very stressed about money

Some countries are feeling the stress more than others. In the United States and Australia 70% of people said they were “very or somewhat stressed” about money, and in Spain and Mexico that number went up to 72% of participants.

A problem in Europe too

This percentage slightly decreased to 63% in the U.K., 57% in Germany, 55% in Switzerland, and roughly half of the population in Singapore (49%) and France expressed similar concerns
