Beethoven Symphony No 8 F major Leonard Bernstein Wiener Philarmoniker

On this day, February 27, 1814, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 was premiered in Vienna!

Often considered the lightest of his late symphonies, it was composed at a tumultuous time in Beethoven’s life. Leonard Bernstein once described it as a “weighty and very forceful symphony.”
