Paul Buitink talks to John Mearsheimer, a renowned American political scientist and international relations scholar who belongs to the realist school of thought. He is a Professor at the University of Chicago. John gives an overview of what offensive realism is. Furthermore he discusses the European Union’s foreign policy and how dependent it is on that of the US. He explains Russia’s strategy and how Ukraine is going to lose with severe negative consequences for Europe and NATO. He also gives his view on the tensions between US and China and how the situation in the Middle East could spiral out of control.
